Songfacts®:

  • Plain White T's are best known for the gentle ballad "Hey There Delilah," but they were a Warped Tour band in the mold of blink-182. "Our Time Now" - an upbeat rocker about going after good times - is much more aligned to their sound.
  • Lead singer Tom Higgenson wrote this with the professional songwriters Mike Daly and Mia Koo.
  • This was released on Every Second Counts, the band's first album with Hollywood Records (they were previously on the independent label Fearless). It was issued as the follow-up single to "Hey There Delilah" and reached #90 in January 2008, six months after "Delilah" hit #1.
  • Together with the Every Second Counts track "You and Me," this was featured in the 2007 Disney Channel original movie Johnny Kapahala: Back on Board.
  • The video was directed by Shane Drake (Fall Out Boy, Paramore). Drake won the 2006 MTV Video Music Award for Video of the Year for the Panic At The Disco song "I Write Sins Not Tragedies."
