Songfacts®:

  • This song is about alcohol addiction, most likely lead singer Randy Blythe's, and how he felt it was going to kill him eventually.

They lyrics: "Sweetly she draws me into her arms, a liquid embrace to chase the day way. Sedate numb deaf and dumb, stumbling into solitude" refer to how alcohol draws him in by making him think it will make things better, but it makes him worse and separates him from his friends. >>

  • Andrew from Colton, CaI love the way the lyris make it seem like he cant escape the vice of alcoholism. Also how he makes it seem great and at the same time horrible, "sweetly she takes me into her arms a liquid embrae to chase the day away" makes it sound good, while "stumbling into solitude" and "closer and closer towards never ending sleep" describes the consequences.
  • Mike from Denver, Codont let the addiction get the better of you. addiction is stronger than you. drinking heavily doesn't make you cool. if you are smart and drink in moderation, that's great.
  • Hugh from Manhattan, NyAlcohol can be okay in moderation just like pretty much everything else. I don't drink because I am on meds but I'm not going to tell someone else what to do. Unless it is someone I know and that person is in deep *deleted*.
  • Mike from Denver, Coalcohol f--ks you up. its stupid. DONT TRY IT. learned that the hard way. dont make the mistake me and my father did. [RIP]
