Temptation Eyes

by

The Grass Roots

Songfacts®:  You can leave comments about the song at the bottom of the page.

Written by Dan Walsh and Harvey Price, this is the favorite of all the songs that they have written. In addition, lead singer Rob Grill describes it as his "all-time favorite Grass Roots song." It's about a temptress who drives the singer wild, even though he can't have her for himself. (thanks, Jerro - New Alexandria, PA)

Oh, yeah, excellent song! Especially the break in the singer's voice towards the end of the song,"....lookin' through my,my,my soul". Has a great bass line that drives the chorus.

Susanna Hoffs - "Eternal Flame"Susanna Hoffs - "Eternal Flame"
The Prince-penned "Manic Monday" was the first song The Bangles heard coming from a car radio, but "Eternal Flame" is closest to Susanna's heart, perhaps because she sang it in "various states of undress."
