Songfacts®:

  • In this song, which Pink wrote with Billy Mann, the singer-songwriter asks a series of questions such as, "Have you ever hated yourself for staring at the phone?" Pink admitted on her website: "I still don't have some of the answers to the questions I pose on this record. I'm still figuring it all out."
  • On January 31, 2010 Pink performed this song at the 52nd Grammy Awards. Celebrities, talk shows and the general public all acclaimed her high-flying performance, which showcased Pink and glitter-covered acrobats twirling in the air above the stage. The song was immediately delivered digitally to radio as a new single by her record company before the Grammy broadcast was even over and the ensuing online sales resulted in the song debuting at #18 on the Hot 100.

Pink's fascination with aerial acrobats began after seeing a Cher concert where the singer incorporated aerial acrobats into the show.
  • This was performed by Lea Michele on the 2014 Glee episode "The Untitled Rachel Berry Project."
  • This was the final single from Pink's fifth studio album, Funhouse, a collection of pop-rock tunes about the singer's conflicting feelings about her relationship estranged husband Carey Hart, as evident by the earlier singles "So What" and "Please Don't Leave Me." The album debuted at #2 in the US and #1 in the UK.
