Songfacts®:

  • This is a break-up song about a man who's in love with a woman who constantly doubts him. It was a bit hit, keeping Eddie Money in the public eye for the rest of the decade. >>

  • This was written by Jesse Harms, who is a keyboard player that toured with Money to support the Nothing to Lose album. Harms has also toured with R.E.O. Speedwagon, Sammy Hagar and David Lee Roth.
  • There are lots of "na na na na na"s in this song, which Money hated. He claimed it was supposed to be part of a horn line, but the horn player didn't show up so they did it with vocals. This was fine in the studio, but he felt silly singing "na na na..." over and over in concert.
  • In the video, the French actress Blair Valk is the woman in the cutaways. In classic MTV fashion, she's pure eye candy, appearing in various poses and outfits and getting very wet.
