Album: The Harvest YearsReleased: 1991
According to the December 1996 issue of the fanzine Nova Lepidoptera
, this John Lees composition was recorded as long ago as 1968 but lay undiscovered in the vaults for over twenty years until fan club member Steve Hibbard acquired 3 seven inch acetates; the other two were "I Can't Go On Without You" and "Eden Unobtainable
"; all three songs were included on the 1991 compilation The Harvest Years
. "Pools Of Blue" is about the world seen through the eyes of a blind girl - so to speak; Lees said it was the one song he would like to re-record, preferably with an orchestra. The band made several attempts to record it in the early seventies but were never happy with the result.
