This song - like many other Dave Matthews Band songs - is about celebrating your life. live life happy, fun and free, but also remember you have responsibilities to be aware of. (thanks, Chenel - Salamanca, NY)

In 2002, Ben and Jerry's created a Dave Matthews Band inspired ice cream called "One Sweet Whirled" as a tribute to this song. It is a combination of coffee ice cream, caramel, and marshmallow swirls. Ben and Jerry's and The Dave Matthews Band both support socially responsible causes, and some proceeds from "One Sweet Whirled" go to the organization Save Our Environment.

Jerry Garcia and Phish are the only other musicians to have flavors of Ben and Jerry's named after them - Cherry Garcia and Phish Food.

Comments:

- Jeremy, clay, NY

This is probably one of the best DMB songs. A celebration of life and being alive, and realizing that it takes work to preserve it.
- Ben, harpers ferry, WV

This song is great on the live versions. The lyrics are very inspiring and make you appreciate life. The instrumentals are just incredible!
- Tom, St. Louis, MO

A song I didn't hear for a long time after I became a DMB fan, this one makes me feel safe and cozy. It is really good on the Dave & Tim album.
- Zach, Horn Lake, MS

I like this song much better when Dave and Tim Reynolds play it acoustically, if that's a word.
- Dan, Port Jervis, NY

This song celebrates life on this planet. It also reminds us of how beautiful, yet fragile, life is so enjoy every minute of it-- "Take all that we can get/ When it's done / Nobody left to bury / Nobody left to dig the holes / And here we will rest safely." I love this quote too--"Lay down in the mother's arms/ For here we can rest safely."-- It reminds me of turning back to my parents when things turn out wrong in my life.
