Album: Songs of England (1963)

Songfacts®:

  • In 1953, bandleader Archie Alexander won a prize for a marching song in a competition organized by a national newspaper, and decided to turn his hand to songwriting. This run of the mill love song was obviously written more for money than for love, and it certainly didn't win any prizes. One line reads "Though I'm on - - ly a teen-age girl (boy)..." It is copyright by Inter-Art of London, 1963. >>
