  • This rockabilly number is a tribute to a hero of Perry's, 1950s rockabilly pioneer Gene Vincent.
  • The song is a track from Perry's fifth solo album, Have Guitar, Will Travel. The album was recorded in the Aerosmith guitarist's home studio, The Boneyard, with longtime musical collaborators, bassist David Hull, guitarist Paul Santo, and drummer Marty Richards. It also features the vocals of a young German singer known as Hagen. "My wife found him on YouTube, we sent him a ticket and he mixed in really well," Perry explained to Billboard magazine. "He sings incredible."
  • The album title is a variation of the phrase "Have Gun, Will Travel, which was originally the name of a US TV western serial that run from 1957 to 1963. Other variations of the phrase used in a musical context include Megadeth's 1997 album track, "Have Cool, Will Travel" The Sonics' 1965 garage rock classic "Have Love, Will Travel" and the Duane Eddy album title, Have Twangy Guitar, Will Travel.
