Songfacts®:

  • This breezy, Motown influenced track is from the latter half of Canadian pop singer Justin Bieber's debut album, My World 2.0. Justin wrote the song with Melvin Hough II, Rivelino Wouter, Timothy Thomas and Theron Thomas.
  • Kanye West teamed up with Justin and Wu-Tang Clan member Raekwon to produce a re-mix of this tune. The re-engineered version sees the two rappers spitting Wu-style rhymes in between the teenage pop star singing the same verses as on the original. The record came together after Kanye tweeted to Justin: "Listening to @JustinBieber 'Run Away love,' I love Sunday mornings in the crib." The two stars then traded messages about their mutual admiration. West later added Raekwon in the mix.
  • The remix samples the beat from Wu-Tang Clan's 1993 hit "Wu-Tang Clan Ain't Nuthing ta F--- Wit."
  • Raekwon explained to Billboard magazine why he wanted to get involved with this remix: "Well, you know, shout out to the young G Justin Bieber for doing his thing. These are brothers that recognize Wu-Tang's legacy, and I definitely appreciated getting into that song with him and getting some limelight with him because he's hot right now. I think that us being cats that been in the game as long as we've been, we have to show love to our younger brothers. That's the person I am; that's how I was cut - if you're respectful, you're humble, and you carry yourself like a successful and professional dude, I want to be involved with it. And we made it happen. We knew it was going to be a strong record, and we went for it."
