This was the last chart single for the group before lead singer Chaka Khan (born Yvette Stevens) left for a solo career. On this track, she sings about a man who makes her feel so good, that no other can come close.

Producer Quincy Jones wanted this for Michael Jackson's Thriller album, and almost got it. Rufus keyboardist David Wolinski wrote the song. The group didn't like it but recorded it anyway. It was released as a single when Wolinski threatened to pull it off the album and give it to Jackson and Jones. (thanks, Brad Wind - Miami, FL, for all above)

When Rufus was being formed, they rejected guitarist Roger Linn because he didn't sing, but this was one of the first songs ever written to the beat of Roger's invention - the LM-1 Drum, the world's first programmable, sampled-sound drum machine. In this case the machine was used to create the keyboard loop. John Robinson played live drums and overdubbed the fills. (thanks, Massimo - New York, NY, and Edward Pearce - Ashford, Kent, England)

In 1989 a remixed version by Frankie Knuckles reached #6 in the UK.

In 1997 rapper LL Cool J topped the UK charts (#46 in US) with his interpolation of the song. It became a hit after being featured in the movie Beavis And Butthead Do America.

In 2003 British pop band Liberty X reached #3 in the UK with "Be Nobody," a merging of the lyrics from "Ain't Nobody" and the music from Human League's "Being Boiled."

Comments:

It's not a drum machine, JR played Live drums there.

Yikes - can you imagine if MJ had sung this? "Thriller" would be much more a monster album. I can definitely see MJ doing this - very percussive vocals, funky groove; it might have replaced "Baby Be Mine"
- Matt, Raleigh, NC

One of the essential songs of the 80th!
- Zigmars, Riga, Europe

I can't imagine Michael Jackson singing this song.
- Shonda, Los Angeles, CA

This song was featured and also include in the soundtrack of a breakdance movie, Breakin' in 1984

Twice a UK hit single for Rufus/Chaka Khan - originally made No.21 in 1983. A remix later peaked at UK No.7 in 1989. In 1997, the song was also covered by LL Cool J, whose version went to UK No.1 after its' inclusion in the Beavis & Butthead Do America film soundtrack
- Dave, Cardiff, Wales
