Sing A Rainbow

Album: Pete Kelly's Blues (1955)

Songfacts®:

  • Also known as "I Can Sing A Rainbow," this popular children's song was written by Arthur Hamilton. In 4/4 time, it is copyright 1955 by Warner/Chappell North America Limited. The copyright is due to its featuring in the Warner Brothers film Pete Kelly's Blues, which was released in the USA on July 31, 1955.

Though the original recording from the soundtrack, by Peggy Lee on Decca, has an uptempo orchestral arrangement, it actually works best as an acoustic guitar or similarly simple arrangement as a didactic song. "Listen with your eyes..." Hmm, poetic license? >>
