Songfacts®:

  • This is a track from the London based drum and bass production duo Chase & Status' second album, No More Idols. The song features American singer Cee-Lo Green, the only non-British guest on the long player. "The reason we could have Cee Lo on the record is because he is talking all about London on the song, using London slang," Saul "Chase" Milton explained to The Daily Record. "A Brixton briefcase is what you used to call a ghetto blaster in the 80s that people carried on their shoulders, walking around the street listening to music. It is synonymous with London, so that was why we could get away with Cee Lo."
  • Cee-Lo recorded his vocals separately to the Chase & Status pair. "We didn't get into the studio with him. We spoke on the phone, because he was all over the place promoting his album Lady Killer and his single Forget You," Milton told The Daily Record. He was really great though. He could have been a nightmare, because people with a high profile can be a bit like that, but he was cool and chilled."
