Songfacts®:

  • This collaboration with Rivers Cuomo was the first track to be revealed from the fourth album of Canadian pop punkers Simple Plan. The playful romantic ode finds the Weezer frontman singing about being so smitten with his new love, there's "fungus growing in the icebox, all I got left are fruit roll-ups."
  • The song features in the 2011 Disney film Prom starring Aimee Teegarden of Friday Night Lights.
  • During an interview with Alter The Press! lead singer Pierre Bouvier was asked how the band ended up hooking up with Rivers Cuomo on this song. He replied: "It's something we wanted to do, so we reached out to his people and he said yes. It was quite simple really. We've always loved Weezer and Rivers has written some classics. We kind of did it just as a selfish thing. We didn't really care if we ended up with a great song or not. We figured it would just be an awesome experience to work with him. It was kind of funny because we were super nervous before he showed up so we prepared a bunch of ideas. When we started writing the song, we kept coming up with these 'Weezer' type lines. I guess because we were trying to come up with stuff that we thought he would dig. So a lot of the lines that people may think he came up with were actually from us trying to get him stoked!"
  • Bouvier explained the song's music video to AOL Music: "It's prom night and the prom is kinda boring so people are in there not really having a great time. We're out here playing a show and they start hearing us from the inside and they start running out and realize that 'Holy crap! Simple Plan's playing here!'"
