All Birds Look Like Chickens To Me

Songfacts®:  You can leave comments about the song at the bottom of the page.

Published by W.B. Gray of New York in 1899, if this sounds a strange title for a song, there are two reasons for it. One is that it was actually written by the black songwriter Irving Jones mimicking the Ernest Hogan composition "All Coons Look Alike To Me". The other is that Mr. Jones appears to have had a thing about chickens.

In 1926, it was recorded by Sweet Papa Stovepipe, which is probably the best known version. (thanks, Alexander Baron - London, England)
