Songfacts®:

  • This is a promo single by American singer Dev, taken from her debut studio album, The Night the Sun Came Up. It was originally written by one of The Cataracs about being in a relationship with another woman, whilst Dev and the production duo were in Costa Rica recording the album. The electropop songstress recalled to Yahoo! Music that while reading some of the lyrics, she expressed her interest in recording the song. "I was like, 'Oh, I really like that. It could almost be a flip of me singing about myself.'" The singer added that she and The Cataracts considered changing "around the perspective, but I was like, 'No. Let's keep it like that.'"
