Songfacts®:

  • Born To Sing: No Plan B is the 35th album recorded by Northern Irish singer/songwriter Van Morrison. The long player marked his return to Blue Note Records. Having released What's Wrong with This Picture? for Blue Note back in 2003, Morrison re-signed to the jazz label in large part because musician and producer Don Was signed on to be its president.
  • Morrison explained the album title to The Guardian: "Singing is my profession – there is no plan B," he said. "When I heard Goodnight Irene by Leadbelly, with Sonny Terry on harmonica, that was it. Everything else went out the window."
