Jann Klose revealed in our interview
that the song popped into his head as a melody while he was sitting in a cafe in Baltimore, Maryland. Lyrically, it holds true to Klose's personal, emotive style of songwriting, directly dealing with emotional experiences in the singer's life. "I had just met someone, it felt like we were going somewhere," he said. "But it just crashed and burned."
The song features a cello arrangement from Jann's backing bassist, Chris Marolf.
This appeared on Reverie, released in 2007. The album, Klose's third, revolved around themes of loss, struggle, and continuing to push on through life despite hardships.
