  • Producer Scott Hendricks was adamant that Shelton should record this Michael Dulaney, Will Gray and Ian Kirkpatrick penned tune, but initially the Country star didn't get it. Blake recalled to Roughstock: "He sent to me with different singers, guitar/vocals, full demos, a guy singing it, a girl singing it, just because he knew that it was a special song that I just couldn't get into it for the longest time. And then one day I was back home in Oklahoma and I put in a disc of songs that he sent me and there the damn thing was again. It was like, 'What has he done!?' Next thing you know I was singing along! I was like, 'Man, he's right! This is a great song!' And I called him and I said, 'Let's cut, 'Do You Remember' and he sent back, 'This is the greatest day ever! Yeah!' And just shows you, I mean Scott, he knows what he's doing, he knows the great song and it also shows that he's learned how to work me."

  • Sue from PaI was taking my dad for tons of tests before his surgery- they weren’t sure exactly what was wrong. He was also very hard of hearing & refused to wear his hearing aids. To avoid repeating myself I had the volume low. We got in the car after a test & he said “turn that up!” He listened to it, said play it again & every time he got in the car he’d say “ok- put our song on!” It was this song! He remembered us as kids running to the river (we ran put our feet in the water), I danced on his shoes when I was little. He died- but this song was on on my way to the hospital. The 2nd verse is perfect- “where I am now is where I should be- you’re so far away but always with me”. He was your greatest fan that didn’t know your name! I tried! But he was reliving those memories- I could see it in his face. I cry every time I hear this- but a soft one knowing your song was his favorite & stirred up many good memories! I am & always will be a fan! Thank you!
