  • Stevens wrote this for Linda Lewis, who sang on his 1972 album Catch Bull At Four and accompanied Stevens on his 1974 Bamboozle tour. Clive Davis of Arista Records signed Lewis on the strength of her performance of this song, which she released on her 1975 album Not A Little Girl Anymore. Lewis had a UK hit with a cover of "It's In His Kiss (Shoop Shoop Song)." >>

  • This was Stevens' last hit. Later that year, he changed his name to Yusuf Islam and became a Muslim.
  • This was inspired by the playground at St. Joseph's in London, where Stevens went to school.
  • Elkie Brooks sang on this with Stevens. She became a very successful singer with a string of UK hits in the '70s and '80s.

A great example of Cat's strengh. This lay in his ability to write and perform very touching songs, tenderly singing and playing acoustic guitar without a hint of actual sap. There is a distinctive difference and the line between sap and legitimately good stuff does not depend on how "hard" the song is played or sung or how "hard" the lyrics are.Brian - Meriden, Ct
I am not according with you, dear Nessie. It's a great song, full of meaning and musically powerful.AgustÃ?n - Santiago, Chile
If I'd written tripe like this, I'd have changed my name, too. Not one of his bright spots.Nessie - Sapporo, Japan
