Songfacts®:

  • This song is set in the early '70s at the Côte d'Azur house belonging to the Rolling Stones' Keith Richards and his then girlfriend, Anita Pallenberg. Bruni sings about a dreamy day with her beau, Stones' singer Mick Jagger, and the titular couple. The inspiration came from a report about the making of the band's Exile on Main St. album with the very first mobile recording studio. "It seemed so idyllic," she recalled UK newspaper The Sunday Telegraph, "a lost dream."
  • The song was released as the first single from Little French Songs and was especially popular in Belgium, where it peaked at #19 on the singles chart.
