Songfacts®:  You can leave comments about the song at the bottom of the page.

This tune speaks about the tragedies of losing children as Chapman admits to not understanding God's higher ways in such circumstances: We trust Him because what else can we do? The singer-songwriter penned the song about his friend's son, Michael, who lost his life after a skateboarding accident and his own five-year-old daughter Maria who died in an accident May 2008. "I sang it at [Michael's] memorial, standing on the same stage where we did the memorial for Maria," Chapman told Billboard magazine. "It was this total flashback for us."
