Prince premiered his re-interpretation on Louisville, Kentucky radio station WFPK, to mark starting the US leg of his Hit and Run tour, which kicked off on March 14, 2015. 3rdEyeGirl drummer and Louisville native Hannah Welton, sings on the song alongside Prince.
  • Contemporary Christian singer–songwriter Nichole Norderman wrote "Brave" with producer Jay Joyce who more recently was the man behind the boards for Little Big Town's Pain Killer and Eric Church's The Outsiders albums.
