Songfacts®:

  • This emotional track finds Jason Derulo looking back with regret on lost love. The song is keyed to the phrase "I never meant to fall in love," and it's hard not to wander whether he's singing about his ex, Jordin Sparks.
  • The song's music video finds Derulo stuck inside a haunted mansion unable to escape the love spell that Cheyenne, a creepy long-haired girl in a red dress has cast on him. "Basically Cheyenne haunts my life, and the video takes it literally," the singer told MTV News. "She is just throughout my brain; I can't get her out of my head."
  • The video is intercut with shots of Deurlo dancing in a room of of what seems to be dead ballerinas. About halfway through the song, the ballerinas come to life and become backup dancers for singer. "It was real fun; it felt like I got to play this character. It felt like we were on a movie set not just a video set," he said. "There's a huge dance break [similar] to the old videos that I used to love that had these big moments. It's really something to watch - it's a spectacle, it's a scary story, a little creepy, so don't watch it after 12."
