Album: Brand New MachineReleased: 2013
This moody opening track from the British production duo's third album was inspired by bluesy rock acts like The Black Keys. While Chase & Status are always looking to highlight new talent on their records, this one came out of a jam session with their own live band: drummer Andy Gangadeen and frontman MC Rage. Will Kennard, aka Status, explained the song's appeal in a Spotify track-by-track commentary: "We thought this might be a nice way to start off the new album; something a bit darker and a bit more sort of interesting."
This was used as a backing track for the first installment of the BBC documentary Reggie Yates' Extreme Russia.
