Album: Shadow of the Moon (1997)

Songfacts®:

  • While Ritchie Blackmore plays most of the guitar for Blackmore's Night, this acoustic instrumental requires two guitars on stage. The Paris Moon DVD featured Sir Robert of Normandie on second guitar - i.e. Robert Curiano, who played bass for the group from 2000 to 2007. "Minstrel Hall" appears too on the live Castles & Dreams DVD.
  • The original studio recording from the debut Shadow of the Moon album runs to a mere 2 minutes 36 seconds. According to Candice Night, Ritchie wrote it on their travels. Thematic of the age, it is a track John Dowland himself could have written. >>
