Songfacts®:

  • "Vandraren" translates from the Swedish as "Wanderer"; the song has lyrics by Py Bäckman and music by Mats Wester. The first track on the eponymous Nordman album, it won the Rockbjörnen award for Swedish Song Of The Year in 1994, reaching #7 in the Topplistan (as the Swedish singles chart was then known). The B-side of the original single was "Strömkarlen."

"Vandraren" was also recorded in Norwegian but is probably best known by its English translation as "Journeyman." >>
