Songfacts®:

  • In this song, Robert Knight is so lonely, he's crying out to God, asking Him to bless his loneliness and let him love again. The song was written by Buzz Cason and Mac Gayden, the same team that wrote his big hit "Everlasting Love."
  • This uptempo number was also recorded by both The Mindbenders and the Radio 1 disc jockey Tony Blackburn. The Blackburn version was released on the Polydor label backed by "Wait For Me." The Mindbenders version was released on the Fontana label in June 1968 backed by "Yellow Brick Road" and arranged by John Paul Jones.

In November 1969, Blackburn banned his version from his own program. >>
