Songfacts®:

  • This song finds Mensa discussing his wish for a new girlfriend and what they'll do together. He came up with the track with his regular producer Papi Beatz. Mensa told Billboard magazine: "We just made 'New Bae' in one day. It was just fun. My manager's brother - we call him Sex Mob Seth - was playing some Spanish guitar and then it sounded fresh so I recorded it on my iPhone. We chopped it up later and we figured it out. We had to put it in a 4/4 tempo which was kind of hard."
