I'll Never Find Another You

US Chart: 4      UK Chart: 1

Songfacts:  You can leave comments about the song at the bottom of the page.

This was written by Tom Springfield, Dusty Springfield's brother and band mate of the English Folk group The Springfields. After The Springfields disbanded, Dusty began a successful career in Pop and Soul music, while Tom began a career as a songwriter. He wrote most of the Seekers' identifiable material during the '60s.

This was the biggest-selling single in Britain of 1965. It reached #1 in the Seekers' native Australia and it became the first song by an Australian group to reach #1 outside of Australia.

The first time this appeared on an album was 1968 when the Seekers released Live at the Talk of the Town.

In 1967, this was a #1 Country hit (which also reached #97 on the US pop charts) for Country singer Sonny James. (thanks, Jerro - New Alexandria, PA, for all above)

Comments:

A college roommate of mine almost ruined this one for me, saying that certain fraternaties there should replace the word "you" with "ewe."

Hello, Judith Durham is my favorite singer ever. And as two other people have stated here, she is incredibly Blessed with the best voice of any woman I have ever heard or ever will here, at least on this planet. Thank you.
- Tony , Levittown, PA

Ditto the previous comments about Judith Durham and chord structure. The harmonies and the nice 12-string guitar riff make this a hauntingly beautiful song.
- Charlie , Cape Girardeau, MO

Judith has the most beautiful voice, she is blessed to sound like that.
- vicki , houston, TX

Judith Durham was a legend ,and still is! Her voice is superb, and summed up the 60s in the UK. Always makes me think of Carnaby Street and the King's Road in Chelsea, London.
- Derek , Cambridge, New Zealand

The chord structure has a hymnal quality, when one analyzes it technically. The lyrics may give a clue as well - new world, long journey, stay by my side.
- Jim , Adelaide, Australia

Judith Durham put a lot into the song. She was also the key to Georgy Girl becoming The Seekers biggest hit.
- Howard , St. Louis Park, MN
