  • This song was chosen as the single release for the Wildlife Concert double CD. The director of public relations at Columbia Records (a subsidiary of Sony) was very excited about the song because John was playing the piano. The song always got tremendous ovations and there were times John actually stopped singing to let the applause die down. If you listen to Harbor Lights, you will hear Chris Nole playing louder and louder to hear the piano over the applause.
  • Denver often played this song in concert beginning as an instrumental with Chris Nole at the piano. Toward the last verse, John's voice comes through and concludes the song.
