Songfacts®:

  • The Dutchess is Fergie's first solo album, and she seems to be making in effort to add to the lexicon of the urban dictionary. In this song, "Fergalicious" seems to be an adjective describing something that makes boys go crazy. She applies this term to her body, or as she might otherwise refer to it, her "My Humps."
  • Various musical an lyrical elements from other songs were incorporated into this, including "Give It All You Got" by Afro-Rican, "Supersonic" by J. J. Fad and "It's More Fun To Compute" by Kraftwerk. >>

  • Fergie won for Favorite Female Artist at the 2007 American Music Awards, where she performed this song in a medley with "Big Girls Don't Cry" and "Clumsy." >>

    Bertrand - Paris, France
  • In an interview with AOL Fergie explained about this song: "It's a take on Afro-Rican's "Give It All You Got" and J. J. Fad's "Supersonic," both of which were huge party/dance songs when I was growing up." She added that Fergie's Black Eyed Peas colleague Will.I.Am is on this track, too. The two Black Eyed Peas had fun doing this song as according to Fergie they're both "from the same generation of music."

  • Stevie D from Hampstead MarylandWho were the back up dancers in the video Fergalicious.
  • Rahul from Chennai, Indiamatthew and landon.. u guys have jus read my mind.....
  • Matthew from Sayre, PaThe answer to all your ranting is simple, Laura from Hacienda. People react badly to this music because Fergie's music is inspiring new generations to act shallow. Lest we forget, it also makes countless women feel unattractive, something that destroys their self-confidence. Music is powerful. Someday, I hope artists can go on trial for the impact they have had on ruining others.
  • Landon from Winchester, OhWhy are female pop stars always singing about how hot they are? It just shows how conceited and self-centered they are. I'm not even giving this song a chance to listen to. I know it sucks.
  • Austin from Smallsville, NeYou are right. She is just a Gwen Stefani rip off
  • Madison from Norway, MeI don't think her record company knows what to do with her. I think they were expecting her to be the next breakout star of a band like Gwen but she just can't pull it off. Now she's doing cover songs (Baracuda) and has a handbag line (yawn...).
  • Laura from Hacienda Heights, Caand about about being conceited... man that Tom Jones, John Lennon, the Rolling Stones, Queen, Rod Stewart, Tony Bennet, Frank Sinatra, the RAT Pack, Prince, Aretha, P Diddy, Joan Baez, Alanis Morrissette, ..... I mean the list can go on forever about artists who have written songs time and time again about themselves in their work to some capacity. Think twice -- song lovers -- if you want to say that Fergie is just " so conceited" to have issued out a song all about herself. Let's put it this way, we are here leaving messages and opinions about her and we've formed thoughts about her because she did something right-wrong-cool-odd, etc to grab out attention. She did exactly what you are saying she is intending to do. If you like her, love her great -- show it. If you don't, go write a blog about it or go run a lap but why put so much energy in putting someone down on a site that is to offer facts and trivia and feelings towards an artist? I mean, seriously.
  • Laura from Hacienda Heights, CaHer beauty is striking and alluring. Her body is simply and puh-lease do not say she is "too old" my god she's in her 30s and I can say I am in my twenties and I know countless people in their teens even who don't have her body, her hair, her style....everything. she does stand out whether she was famed as a singer or working somewhere in ...ahem, in OUR hometown. Let's see some of you who put her and others who have talent in their chosen profession and see how you react when people try to put you down.
  • Laura from Hacienda Heights, Camany artists make reference to themselves. don't even get me started on rap, hip hop, and r&b artists who have been doing that for years. She plugs her name in her songs to fit the lyrics, to her credit.
  • Allison from An Awesome City In, CoFergie must be self-obsessed cuz all, well most of her songs say "Fergie" at least once, but anywho, I like her songs.
  • Ekkostar from Me, MeWhat I don't understand is why some of the people who write up these things about the female pop stars totally can't write worth a sh*t and try to defend these dorks.
  • Hope from Nonyabiz, MiFergie is so conceited. And besides, she's not even pretty. She has man-like features, and her eyebrows scare me. They look like they're about to jump out at any second.
  • Derek from Monroe, Miit's a song... geez, if I could write a song about myself and make millions, I would too... props to fergie...the song is pretty much amazing
  • Buddy from Barbourville, Kyi thought she sang pretty good when she was with the pees.
  • David from Port Hawkesbury, CanadaHow stupid do you have to be to write a song about yourself?
  • Sam from Provo, VtKristin, i agree with you, rap is the worst and teaches kids that killing, swearing, and out of wedlock sex are good things.
  • Steve from Tampa, FlDang, fergie. Rip off JJ Fad, much?

This woman is an untalented, butter-face.
  • Bobsaget from Bellville, SdF****** *** *** ***** ***** ****** . Sorry. it pretty good.
  • Katy from Portland, Ori like this song, but let's face it: fergie canNOT sing. it's almost sad. i could've sold more albums then her! i'm actually good at singing. her voice has a rough edge to it and have u heard her song, "finally"? good song, bad singer 4 it. who else thinx she shouldn't have an album out?
  • Lindsay from Blue Mountains, AustraliaIt's kind of sad that people read so much into things it's just a song if you don't like it don't listen to it but don't verbally bash fergie i happen to dislike this song but i'm not gonna come here and slander it. the sexual image that fergie has isn't a projection it's the way the media manipulates images that makes ppl or women like fergie look like sexual objects when really they aren't trying too... all i'm saying ppl is you wouldn't like it if ppl thought this kind of nasty stuff about your favorite song so can we stick to constructive critisism please...
  • Michael from Lex Vegas, Kyi was listening to the oldies station today and was thinking... pop music was so much better back in the days wasnt it? its because of this tripe that it sucks. it honestly makes me want n'sync back because there really was some talent in that band. yeah so she lives at the gym big deal she has the face of a dog.
  • Kristin from Yaphank, NyA big part of life is sex. Thats what life is, its how humans came to be. Not all songs are lovely and wonderful. I agree inner beauty is whats most important, but if you guys want to bash some type of music with sex in it, complain about those dirty, raunchy rap songs that everyone at my school seems to like. That crap annoys the hell out of me, its hardly music in my opinion. At least this song is about sexual appeal, and not about actual nasty sex.
  • Devinne from Sa, Txfor one everyone of you dont no between gwen stefani and fergie !!!!!! so all of you shut up
  • Damien from Edmonton, CanadaI liked this song the first time I heard it- when it was called "Wind It Up"
  • Sam from Provo, Vtyes KC from Georgia. That is what society is about, sexual appeal. Maybe we don't all have to be 'hot'; There's something called inner beauty, and that's what God gave us. It's so dumb that almost everything Fergie sings about is sexual. There's people who have morals and have the dignity to hate this song. Plus, the main synth is one note. What has music degenerated to? Not only is this song immoral, but worthless from a musical standpoint. Yes, and i know what you will say that it's the words that matter. But what poetic statement does this song offer? None. And that concludes my rant.
  • Emma from White Rock, CanadaWe're not jealous that we don't look like that, she looks like some over plastic surgeried whore, whisch is exactly what she is. This song has to be one of the worst, most disgraceful to the music industry songs to have ever been recorded. And I can GUARANTEE that I'm not the only one who thinks so.
  • Kc from Kingsland, GaThis is one of my favorite songs. u guys are just jealous cuz u dont look like that!!
  • Alexx from Philadelphia, PaI agree with Shana. What kind of a message is this to project to the young girls in america, that fergie is so much hotter than you and you'll never look like that? Its just f*cked up.
  • Robb from Detroit, MiThis song also features the beat from James Brown's "Night Train" beginning with line, "Baby, baby, baby, if you really want me..."
  • Shana from San Diego, CaThis song shows she's way too conceited for her own good.
