Caribbean Queen (No More Love On The Run) by Billy Ocean

  • This song is about a beautiful and exotic woman who seduces the singer. In both the UK and the US it was known as "Caribbean Queen (No More Love On The Run)." However the song's title and lyrics were changed for different regions, so that on the continent of Europe it became "European Queen" and in Africa it was "African Queen."
  • This won the 1984 Grammy Award for Best Rhythm & Blues Vocal Performance. It gave Billy Ocean his first American #1, and also hit #1 on the Hot R&B Singles/Tracks and Club Play Billboard charts.

It reached #1 {for 2 weeks} on November 2nd, 1984 on the Canadian RPM 100 Singles chart {it also peaked at #1 in New Zealand}...
Between 1984 and 1989 he had eleven Top 100 records; seven made the Top 10 with three reaching #1, his other two #1 records were "There'll Be Sad Songs" {1986} and "Get Outta My Dreams, Get Into My Car" {1988}...
