This song is paramount to transporting me somewhere else when I'm attending a boring meeting etc: I hum the melody lines and it just take me away.....I don't think there is a better song out there period...I love the arrangement, the musicianship is so good not many can reproduce this stuff...I had a hard time throwing out my YES 8-track player that still works because of this song...lol....I know I actually have it on CD, but I was cleaning out my garage and had to give it one more go....All other tapes are gone, but win lose or draw gets another round of playing.....See you on the road!!!

In the late '70s I bought "Win Lose or Draw" for this one song only. I wish I still had the L.P. (lost at university) as I never hear High Falls on the radio.

Dickey Betts is the king of the Allman Brothers Band instrumental. This one was released in 1975 on the "Win Lose or Draw" LP. A few years later they had another Betts instrumental called "Pegasus" which was almost a carbon copy of "High Falls."

Of all the many Allman Bros tunes that followed the script of long instrumental, this one is the best. Better than the live Whippin Post.

"Hey Man, Nice Shot" was nearly a Nine Inch Nails song, as Richard was working with Trent Reznor when he came up with it.
