I've Been Away by The Who

Album: A Quick OneReleased: 1970
  • The song tells a tale of a man who recently came out of prison after being framed for a crime committed by his brother, Bill. To get revenge on his brother, the man plans to kill him, bringing out the irony in the song.
  • Bassist John Entwistle and drummer Keith Moon recorded this song by themselves while guitarist Pete Townshend and singer Roger Daltrey were out of the studio. This song, along with "In the City," were the only two to feature Entwistle and Moon by themselves. >>
