Radio by Robbie Williams

Album: Greatest HitsReleased: 2004Charted:
1
  • This was co-written by Stephen "Tin Tin" Duffy, Robbie Williams new songwriting partner who was replacing Guy Chambers. Stephen Duffy had been a founding member of Duran Duran and later had a solo UK hit with "Kiss Me." Williams completed the first verse but couldn't find any inspiration for the second so he got Duffy to do it for him.
  • The song is about an entertainer going mad.
  • The B-side "1974" is the year Williams was born and the song tells of his unrequited love for Lisa Parkes, a girl a year above him at school.
  • This was written for Williams' Greatest Hits album, which hit the top spot in no less than 18 countries: France, Italy, Portugal, Spain, United Kingdom, Argentina, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Switzerland among others. In the United Kingdom it was the best selling album of 2004.
  • This also went to #1 in Denmark and Portugal. >>
