Dr. Jimmy by The Who

Album: QuadropheniaReleased: 1973
  • This song is about Jimmy The Mod, Quadrophenia's main character. He's basically hit rock bottom, dragged down by drugs, drink, and apathy at this point. He's been abandoned by everything and is having a mental breakdown. The song Includes John Entwistle's theme "Is it me?" played without a guitar. >>

Love this tune. I think Quadrophenia gets overlooked as a complete recording. The whole 4 separate personalities based on The Who members fell short, but it's such a solid album.Guy - Benson, Nc
A Great song from a great album by a great band,THE WHO! Quadrophenia is my personal all-time favorite Who album. And this song is a rocker like mostly all of The Who's songs. This is the first song on side-4 of the original "Quadrophenia" album.----"Dr. Jimmy and Mr.Jim.When I'm pilled you don't notice him. He only comes out when I drink my gin."Wayne - Salem, Va
This song sets the real-life scenario of so many 'regular guys' that sren't happy with their regular selves, and like to become a more 'emboldened' thru drugs and alcohol.Lester - New York City, Ny
