This song makes several references to The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupery. In the novel, the main character lives on an asteroid, and spends his days pulling out the Baobab trees that are constantly sprouting there. The baobab trees will make the planet turn to dust if he doesn't remove them. Spektor often draws inspiration from literature. (thanks, Katie - Woodland Hills, CA)
