  • There was a time
    When I was so broken-hearted
Love wasn't much of a friend of mine
    The tables have turned, yeah
'Cause me and them ways have parted
That kind of love was the killin' kind
    So listen

All I want is someone I can't resist
I know all I need to know by the way that I got kissed

I was cryin' when I met you
Now I'm tryin' to forget you
    Your love is sweet misery
I was cryin' just to get you
Now I'm dyin' 'cause I let you
Do what you do down on me, yeah

Now there's not even breathing room
    Between pleasure and pain
Yeah, you cry when we're making love
Must be one and the same

    It's down on me
Yeah, I got to tell you one thing
    It's been on my mind
    Girl, I gotta say
    We're partners in crime
    You got that certain something
What you give to me takes my breath away

Now the word out on the street
Is the devil's in your kiss
If our love goes up in flames
    It's a fire I can't resist

I was cryin' when I met you
Now I'm tryin' to forget you
    Your love is sweet misery
I was cryin' just to get you
Now I'm dyin' 'cause I let you
Do what you do to me, yeah

    'Cause what you got inside
Ain't where your love should stay
Yeah, our love, sweet love, ain't love
'Til you give your heart away, yeah

I was cryin' when I met you
Now I'm tryin' to forget you
    Your love is sweet misery
I was cryin' just to get you
Now I'm dyin' to let you
Do what you do, what you do down to
Know me, know you, baby, right now, right now, baby, right now

I was cryin' when I met you
Now I'm tryin' to forget you
Your love is sweet misery, yeah
I was cryin' when I met you
Now I'm dyin' 'cause I let you
Do what you do down to, down to, down to
I was cryin' when I met you
Now I'm tryin' to forget you

sorry to shatter the illusion here kids and be so blunt, but the song is about getting a b--wjob and now he's stuck in this situation... "you do what you did, down on me", "the way that I got kissed"...
    read the lyrics!!!"

Holly S*&T Did the Screamin Demon just comment on his on song thread? Amazing. I heard him say in an interview once that it was the only song he's ever sang about a B--wjob and gotten away with it. LOL
  • Laura from El Paso, TxI hope you can get the correct lyrics in the link for this song. What shows up when you click the link are the lyrics for Livin on the Edge. Aside from that, this song rocks. I have been a huge Aerosmith fan since Sweet Emotion.
  • Theresa from Murfreesboro, TnGreat rock ballad. After hearing Adam Lambert belt this song - I love it even more!
  • Tom from Robesonia, PaThe 90's Aerosmith had too many outside people making decisions with their music. They were forced to rewrite Get a Grip with other song writers to make it more commercially successful.
  • Chris from Vienna, AustriaIt was the first Aerosmith song I ever got to listen to - and I was blown away by it. I think I listened to it about 50 times in a row.
Unfortunately there weren't any real good Aerosmith power ballads to come anymore ...
  • Jeff from Austin, TxAerosmith was so overrated in the early 90s!! Why were they on MTV so much??? I didnt know anyone who even cared about them?
  • Flor from Setubal, PortugalThe 60's, the 70's the 80's and the 90's, were the best 40 years this world has ever had.
And i'm sad for the music value of this century, really sad :(
  • Sofija from Novi Sad, SerbiaPeople, if you haven't seen the video, I suggest you do so now! The song is great, and the video... WOW! I wish I could kick like that!
  • Steven from Boston, Masorry to shatter the illusion here kids and be so blunt, but the song is about getting a b--wjob and now he's stuck in this situation... "you do what you did, down on me", "the way that I got kissed"...
    read the lyrics!!!
  • Michael from San Diego, Ca"I know, all I need to know, by the way that I got kissed!
I was cryin' when I met you, now I'm tryin' to forget you! Love is sweet misery!"
One of the better power ballads of all time!
  • Mike from Hueytown , AlThe magic of the 70's was long gone at this point.
  • Gordon from Lake Havasu City, AzThis song is one of my favorite of all time. Awesome riff, outstanding lyrics and, a great video. All the makings of great modern day Aerosmith song.
  • Jon from Oakridge, OrI like the intro and middle the best. The way Steve Tyler sings those first couple lines are perfect.
  • Julian from Anaheim, CaThis is one my favorite aerosmith songs!
  • Devon from Bay Village, OhI love this song. I like it when Stephen Tyler screams "Dyin" toward the end of the song.
  • Billy from Boston, MaCryin' is one of Aerosmith's greatest songs. I don't think it is covered on Aerosmith's new CD, Rockin' The Joint.
  • Chrissy from ManchesterAlicia Silverstone is better in the Crazy video with Liv Tyler (Steve Tyler, the lead singer's daughter) but this one is great too of course. Aerosmith are the best band in the world, enough said.
  • Kristina from Malta, Ladon't forget beautiful Stephen Dorff
  • Antonio from Monterrey, MexicoIn the American Idol audition's, in Washington, this was the song that Constantine Maroulis performed
  • Marie from Pueblo, CoAerosmith rocks and so does this song and in the video Alicia Silverstone is hot!
