  • Lines form on my face and hands
Lines form from the ups and downs
I'm in the middle without any plans
    I'm a boy and I'm a man

    I'm eighteen
    And I don't know what I want
    Eighteen
    I just don't know what I want
    Eighteen
    I gotta get away
I've gotta get out of this place
I'll go runnin' in outer space
    Oh yeah

    I've got a
Baby's brain and an old man's heart
Took eighteen years to get this far
Don't always know what I'm talkin' about
Feels like I'm livin' in the middle of doubt
    'Cause I'm

    Eighteen
    I get confused every day
    Eighteen
I just don't know what to say
    Eighteen
    I gotta get away

    Whoa
Lines form on my face and my hands
Lines form on the left and right
I'm in the middle, the middle of life
    I'm a boy and I'm a man

I'm eighteen and I like it
    Yes I like it
Oh, I like it, love it
    Like it, love it
    Eighteen, eighteen, eighteen

  • Eric from Point Place, Wisconsin (green Bay Suburb)I dig this song. I remember it being played on "That 70's Show." I forget which episode it was though.
  • Bill from Locust Grove, GaI remember when this song was popular and Alice showed up at the Toledo Rec Ctr. This place is like a reception center with the accordian doors and a tile floor with no stage. The group is set up on the floor and I am standing about 10 feet from the mics. The band comes out in sequen jump suits split to the navel and high heels. About the middle of the show they come out of the jump suits and they are in black leotards split down the middle with black nylon stockings. They put on a great show, and sounded as good live as they did on the recording. The next time I saw them, a couple years later, it was in the Toledo Sports arena and I couldn't get within 50 yards of the stage. Needless to say I have been a fan ever since the first time I heard 'Eighteen'.
  • Brian from Chicago Area, IlActually, Cooper himself didn't sue Paul Stanley and Bruce Kulick over "Dreamin'" on the Psycho Circus album, the owner of the copyright did. Alice Cooper does not own the publishing rights to "I'm Eighteen" and as far as I know, never did. Paul Stanley and Bruce Kulick were sued, as well as their publishers and the record label involved, but not by Alice Cooper or his management.

  • Lance from Pittsburgh, PaEvery time I play blackjack in the casino and when I have 18, I say to myself "18- and I like it!"
  • Matt from Atlanta, GaI'm 44 years old. I'm divorced. I have three awesome girlfriends, and none of them is close to 40. I play this song EVERY morning before I go to work...:"lines form on my face and hands!!!"
  • Lou from Some Where In Ky., Kysorry me again I was refering to dead babies and other songs he sang like that. Eighteen is a awesome song about turning into a man.
  • Lou from Some Where In Ky., KyMy Brother went to one of Alices Concerts ( it was the Welcome to my Nightmare) And Alice fell off of a giant toy box and broke a rib. none the less the show went on! Alice wrote a great deal of things that were distasteful but thats just Alices style, and in that period of time it grabbed alot of peoples attention. Making Alice alottttttt! of money. I,m guilty of buying His sick songs! But Alice still fits into my music cabinet.
  • Angelo from Las Vegas, Nvmy band rock this song at a talent show

    GREAT SONG!!!
  • Ronnie from Wh, FlNo it isnt really about a confused teenager its about a 18 year old being able to be drafted into the army but not old enough to vote.instead of complaining they made it into a celebration of feeling confused.Angst at its finest.
  • D from Lake Forest, IlIMO, this song still carries on from the 70s to today with 18 year olds, and people around that age.
  • Ross from Independence, MoThis is #482 in Rolling Stone's list of 500 greatest songs.
  • Stefanie Magura from Rock Hill, Scgood song. can see why it would be about a confused teenager.
  • Jeff from Jacskon, KyAnthrax covered this on their 1984 album 'Fistful of Metal'.
