  • Oh, oh

A scrub is a guy that thinks he's fly
And is also known as a busta (busta)
Always talkin' about what he wants
And just sits on his broke ass

So no, I don't want your number
No, I don't want to give you mine and
No, I don't want to meet you nowhere
No, I don't want none of your time and

No, I don't want no scrub
A scrub is a guy that can't get no love from me
    Hangin' out the passenger side
    Of his best friend's ride
    Trying to holla at me
    I don't want no scrub
A scrub is a guy that can't get no love from me
    Hangin' out the passenger side
    Of his best friend's ride
    Trying to holla at me

    Well a scrub checkin' me
But his game is kinda weak
And I know that he cannot approach me
'Cause I'm looking like class, and he's looking like trash
Can't get wit' a deadbeat ass

So no, I don't want your number
No, I don't want to give you mine and
No, I don't want to meet you nowhere
No, I don't want none of your time and

No, I don't want no scrub
A scrub is a guy that can't get no love from me
    Hangin' out the passenger side
    Of his best friend's ride
    Trying to holla at me
    I don't want no scrub
A scrub is a guy that can't get no love from me
    Hangin' out the passenger side
    Of his best friend's ride
    Trying to holla at me

If you don't have a car and you're walking
Oh yes son, I'm talking to you
If you live at home with your momma
Oh yes son, I'm talking to you
If you have a shorty that you don't show love
Oh yes son, I'm talking to you
Wanna get me with no money
Oh no, I don't want no
    No scrub, no scrub
    No scrub, no scrub

No, I don't want no scrub
A scrub is a guy that can't get no love from me
    Hangin' out the passenger side
    Of his best friend's ride
    Trying to holla at me
    I don't want no scrub
A scrub is a guy that can't get no love from me
    Hangin' out the passenger side
    Of his best friend's ride
    Trying to holla at me

See, if you can't spatially expand my horizon
Then that leaves you in the class with scrubs, never rising
    I don't find it surprising
And if you don't have the G's
To please me and bounce me here to the coast of overseas
So, let me give you something to think about
Inundate your mind with intentions to turn you out
Can't forget the focus on the picture in front of me
You as clear as DVD on digital TV screens
Satisfy my appetite with something spectacular
Check your vernacular, and then I get back to ya
    With diamond-like precision
    Insatiable is what I envision
    Can't detect acquisition
    From your friend's Expedition
Mr. Big Willy, if you really want to know
Ask Chilli, could I be a silly ho?
    Not really
    T-Boz and all my senoritas
    Are steppin' on your FILA's
But you don't hear me, though

No, I don't want no scrub
A scrub is a guy that can't get no love from me
    Hangin' out the passenger side
    Of his best friend's ride
    Trying to holla at me
    I don't want no scrub
A scrub is a guy that can't get no love from me
    Hangin' out the passenger side
    Of his best friend's ride

  • Mia from The BronxCorrection to Norman Robinson Kand B and Tiny wrote NO SCRUBS alone and both received a GRAMMY and Kandi B and Tiny didn’t sing on the song. Chili can sing. My Cuz worked for BMG records when the album was made so I have first hand knowledge on BMG ARTIST.
  • Patrick from GeorgiaAccording to an interview with T-Boz and Chilli, "No Scrubs" was about "Full House" actor Dave Coulier. According to their interview, Coulier was riding in a car being driven by co-star John Stamos, and he (Coulier) hung out the side, tried hitting on them talking to them in his famous "Popeye" voice as they were walking down the road.
  • Just Moi from Usa@Norman - Cause you were in the production both? Sounds like Chilli to me and it know Candy in had her solo stuff in early 2000's.
  • Norman Robinson from Baltimore, Maryland I am sorry, but after listening to this song years later, it sounds like Kandi B. Is singing and if you pay attention Tiny is adding to the background vocals solo parts. Clearly not Chilli singing on this record but the voice of Kandi... Also note Chilli doesn’t sing lead on no other tracks.. this song is clearly the Voice of Kandi And Tiny in the back ground.. Laface records pulled a Milli Vanilli on us.... Kandi B should have 1000% credit and Grammy for this song not TLC
  • Reggie from Atlanta Dave, there is a difference between straight Blues and Rhythm & Blues. TLC are in fact, R&B.
  • Dave from Cardiff, WalesBertrand - TLC are not R&B, they are commercial soul-pop. Calling TLC R&B is like calling Destiny's Child Heavy Metal. John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters and Howlin' Wolf are R&B
  • Bertrand from Paris, FranceThe r&b trio TLC electrified the pop music world with their phenomenal album [b] Crazysexycool [b] released in 1994. Then it was a long 5 year wait for the next installment. Fortunately, [b] Fan Mail [b] was nearly as good as its predecessor. "No Scrubs," the leadoff single, is picture perfect late 1990's r&b.

  • Paul from Savannah, GaI remember when "Silly Ho" was supposed to be the first single off of Fanmail and they played it on the radio a couple times, but then they pushed the album up a few months and this became the first official single
  • Dave from Cardiff, WalesBest Rhythm & Blues song?!?! TLC are so NOT Rhythm & Blues!
  • Mandie from Port Royal, Pano girl wants a scrub cuz they aint worth a lick
  • Dave from Cardiff, WalesN-Sync's "Bye Bye Bye" was also intended as response to this song (and the many other songs by female R&B artists/singers of that era with lyrics that bash men), putting across the view that males can be the victims in bad relationships as well, just as Sporty Thievez "No Pigeons" also put across the idea that women are equally as egotistic, and just as big chauvinists as men
  • Sum Sum from New Delhi, Indianot a great song. Good to listen once a while
  • P.s. from Ann Arbor, MiThis song may have "popularized" the word scrubs in the suburbs, but it was already an old urban slang word when this song came out.
  • Agnes from London, Englandwell even though unpretty is my favourite i still lov 'no scrubs' because as 'raynyse' said whenever u take a scrub they just walk over u like u don't even exist. To all the young girls out there i'm not tryin 2 say dat don't date guys but just be careful. Not all men are nice to us women becuase they like, it what they could get from us.We need to thank TLC for making this song. Its an advise not a song only.
  • Jonathan from Natchitoches, LaAppeared in Season 1 Episode 18 of Cold Case on CBS. The name of the episode is "Resolutions."
  • Raynyse from Talahasse , FlThis song is one of favorites because TLC is right about having no scrubs. once you have a scrub they just take advantage. So i'm sending a warning to the young who growing, don't be fooled by looks and sending a shout out to T-Boz, Chilli and Left Eye who art is in heaven looking on us.
  • Captain Jett from Anytown, United StatesOriginally it was written, "No Shrubs" as an ad jingle for Roundup, but became popular during Mork & Mindy reruns.
