The Songwriters Hall of Fame has announced its inductees for 2026<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The inductees include four performing songwriters or songwriting teams\u2013Kenny Loggins, Alanis Morissette, Taylor Swift<\/a>, and Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley of rock band KISS\u2013as well as the three non-performing songwriters or songwriting teams of Walter Afanasieff, Christopher “Tricky” Stewart, and duo Terry Britten and Graham Lyle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Swift\u2019s most recent album, The Life of a Showgirl<\/em>, was released last year, and Morissette is an icon of ’90s rock, with hits like “You Oughta Know” and “Ironic.” Simmons and Stanley penned some of KISS’s biggest hits, including “Rock and Roll All Nite,” while Loggins is known for his hits “Footloose” and “What a Fool Believes.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Non-Performing Songwriters<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

As for the non-performing songwriters, Stewart is best known for his work on hits including Rihanna\u2019s “Umbrella” and Beyonc\u00e9’s “Single Ladies” and “Break My Soul.” Afanasieff is best known for his work with singer Mariah Carey in the ’90s, including holiday hit “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” while Britten and Lyle are known for their songs written for Tina Turner, including hit “What\u2019s Love Got To Do With It.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Everything originates from the song and its creator. We take great pride in our ongoing commitment to recognizing some of the most culturally significant composers in history. This year\u2019s lineup not only showcases iconic songs but also celebrates unity across various genres. These songwriters have profoundly impacted the lives of billions of listeners worldwide, and it is our privilege to honor their contributions.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Swift was previously awarded the SHOF\u2019s Hal David Starlight Award in 2010, which recognizes songwriters who show promise. At 36 years old, she is now the youngest woman to ever be inducted into the hall of fame. Stevie Wonder currently holds the record of the youngest artist ever to be inducted\u2013he was just 32 when he was inducted in 1983.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To qualify for induction, a songwriter’s first commercially released song must be at least 20 years old. Swift just barely makes the cut, as her debut single, \u200b\u200b”Tim McGraw,” was released in 2006.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2025 inductees included George Clinton, The Doobie Brothers, and Mike Love of The Beach Boys.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Induction and Awards Gala will be held Thursday, June 11th in New York City and is not open to the public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
