Being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a huge accomplishment, and between bands, solo careers, and even supergroups, a few musicians have had the distinction of being inducted more than once. While plenty of men have had the honor, only a few women have, and the very first was a beloved rock icon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Stevie Nicks<\/a> has been recognized by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for both her role in Fleetwood Mac and her successful solo career. Nicks first joined Fleetwood Mac in 1975 along with then-boyfriend Lindsey Buckingham, and after a string of hit albums with the band, she released her first solo album, Bella Donna<\/em>, in 1981. She continued to release music both with Fleetwood Mac and as a solo artist into the early ’90s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Fleetwood Mac was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998. Nicks’ solo induction followed over 20 years later<\/a> in 2019, the first year she was nominated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n “To be recognized for my solo work makes me take a deep breath and smile,” she said at the time<\/a>. \u201cIt\u2019s a glorious feeling.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n Nicks also recognized the fact that she was the first woman to be inducted twice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n “My biggest hope is that I have opened the door due to the fact that there\u2019s 22 men who have gone in twice and zero women,\u201d she said at the time<\/a>. \u201cI think that\u2019s really a little off balance.
