Starting with \u201cI Want To Hold Your Hand\u201d in 1964, and ending with \u201cThe Long And Winding Road\u201d in 1970. A seemingly fitting title to wrap up the success of The Beatles in the 1960s, it wasn&#8217;t exactly a long and winding road. In a span of only 6 years, The Beatles hit the top spot 20 times. The last single from The Beatles, released in 2023, \u201cNow And Then,\u201d reached No. 1 in the UK but peaked at only No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u201cMiss You\u201d by The Rolling Stones<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The Rolling Stones - Miss You [Official Lyric Video]\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/WXF0xJsFAiI?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Starting with \u201cHonky Tonk Women\u201d in 1969, The Rolling Stones topped the chart 8 times. Though The Stones are still together and touring, their last No. 1 hit was in 1978. \u201cMiss You\u201d fit perfectly into the disco era of the late 1970s, when seemingly every rock band was trying to get a disco-friendly radio hit. \u201cStart Me Up,\u201d while arguably the most recognizable Stones song, didn&#8217;t top the chart, peaking at No. 2 in 1981.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u201cCandle In The Wind\u201d by Elton John<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-4-3 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Candle In The Wind (Remastered 2014)\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/MYU3F8uUGiw?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In response to Princess Diana&#8217;s death in 1997, Elton John revisited his classic <a href=\"https:\/\/www.songfacts.com\/facts\/elton-john\/candle-in-the-wind\">\u201cCandle In The Wind<\/a>&#8220;. Performing the song at the princess&#8217; funeral, this rendition went on to top the Billboard Hot 100. John had 9 No. 1 hits throughout his career, beginning with \u201cCrocodile Rock\u201d in 1972 and ending with \u201cCandle In The Wind\u201d. To prove it wasn&#8217;t just a fluke, REO&#8217;s Kevin Cronin sought to replicate that success.
