The Killers released “Read My Mind”<\/a> as the third single from Sam’s Town<\/em>, their sophomore album. Originally, it was a different song called “Little Angela,” with simpler lyrics about a love story, but producer Alan Moulder wasn’t happy with it and asked frontman Brandon Flowers to rework it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Flowers has said he considers “Read My Mind” to be the best song he’s ever written and that it’s his favorite Killers song<\/a>. He drew from his own personal experience for the lyrics, many of which are vague, with no clear connection to each other. But overall, it’s a song about the end of a relationship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I think just the description that lives in the song, it’s kind of – I wanted to focus on things that I think are kind of dying,” Flowers once said in an interview.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
