And that confidence may lie in future generations who won\u2019t be content to just sit and let the world rot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Howard <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/alabama-shakes-new-song-i-feel-hope-coming-new-album-1235591943\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">told<\/a> <em>Rolling Stone<\/em>, \u201cThis younger generation makes me feel hopeful because they can see through all the political lies\u2014that song\u2019s about holding onto that hope, and refusing to give up.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>I feel hope coming, I feel hope coming<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are multiple ways a politician can manipulate the public. One is dividing voters with wedge issues that deflect from more pressing concerns like education, housing, and healthcare. The other is apathy. And Howard sings about becoming numb to the flood of bad news and cartoonish corruption. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>They wanna take my home,<br>And turn it upside down on me,<br>Until my heart is numb<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Whatever\u2019s Coming, Let It Come<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Howard sounds resigned here. But she\u2019s not acquiescing.
