And it finds Fender and Dean offering two perspectives on romantic freedom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>I Let Go of Everything I Ever Had<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Sam Fender, Olivia Dean - Rein Me In (Official Video)\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/3triLkS0nq4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Fender takes responsibility for ruining his relationship. He highlights a fight between the couple at a pub. Though he doesn\u2019t reveal the details, it sets up how he\u2019ll numb the pain with alcohol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>And I let go of everything I ever had,<br>\u2019Cause I couldn\u2019t give the love you deserved.<br>By The Gunner, you shouted, \u201cOh my God.\u201d<br>It seemed churlish, but it\u2019s what I was owed, I suppose.<br>Every flagstone of this town bears our prints,<br>And all the bars round here serve my ghosts and carcasses.<br>I wish I knew these things when I was young,<br>\u2019Cause now I\u2019ve just grown so numb<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He\u2019s off the rails, and begs his friends, the bartenders, or anyone listening: don\u2019t dare tighten the reins. If Fender isn\u2019t smashed, then he feels the stinging heartbreak. So, just pour him another.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>We take whatever we can to get the reason back,<br>So please don\u2019t rein me in<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But Dean offers the girl\u2019s perspective. She knows he needs help and he needs her. \u201cSo come on home,\u201d she sings. And don\u2019t place restrictions on her affection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>There\u2019s nothing brave in walking alone,<br>Love in exile has nowhere to go, so come on home.<br>Don\u2019t run away from my tenderness,<br>You\u2019re so afraid of that heart inside of your chest.<br>We were doing so well, but you were scared to be held,<br>Took the easiest way out.<br>I see the tears of a man too proud to reach for a hand,<br>Well, let my love keep you safe now<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>I\u2019m Working Myself up to a Nice Warm Bliss<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The chorus, in Fender\u2019s voice, again begs for the freedom to be self-destructive. However, when Dean joins him, she\u2019s asking for a different kind of slack. With her, he can just let go, instead of being shackled to misery.
