Led by front man Adam Granduciel, the anthemic track continues the band\u2019s psych-tinged heartland rock in a lament about navigating life\u2019s uncertainty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Granduciel\u2019s bandmates David Hartley, Robbie Bennett, Anthony LaMarca, Jon Natchez, and Eliza Hardy Jones contribute to the track alongside guests Lily Honigberg and Spoon\u2019s keyboardist and guitarist Alex Fischel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is Granduciel again channeling Bob Dylan as he crosses his own kind of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.songfacts.com\/facts\/bob-dylan\/desolation-row\">Desolation Row<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-4-3 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The War On Drugs - Who&amp;apos;s That (Official Video)\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/1fMvp6GCyZI?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Behind the Lyrics<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In \u201cWho\u2019s That\u201d, Granduciel tries to locate himself amid life\u2019s daily chaos. He aims to stay present rather than focus on past mistakes that continue to haunt him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Would it be so wrong to be on the take?<br>I\u2019ve been blowing all the ducks away,<br>Just another weekday.<br>Wouldn\u2019t be so bad if you\u2019d just engage.<br>And kept running from a memory,<br>Of living through the same thing<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He compares himself to the giant mythological hunter, Orion. But no matter how much he accumulates, each triumph does little to cure his depression.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Like Orion when I wake up in the morn\u2019,<br>There\u2019s a fire burning just there out of reach.<br>I keep moving through the revolving doors,<br>It\u2019s only my depression, baby<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here, he\u2019s running down a dream but feels continually lost in the pursuit. And it\u2019s not clear if he\u2019s running toward or away from something.
