It also remains one of the biggest-selling singles in history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"C\u00e9line Dion - My Heart Will Go On (Official 25th Anniversary Alternate Music Video)\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/9bFHsd3o1w0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Wherever You Are<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">James Horner composed the instrumental piece that formed \u201cMy Heart Will Go On\u201d for James Cameron\u2019s 1997 blockbuster film, <em>Titanic<\/em>. But the director didn\u2019t think a pop song fit the score. Meanwhile, Dion, who had already said no, was later convinced by her husband, Ren\u00e9 Ang\u00e9lil, to record a demo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Singing lyrics written by Will Jennings, Dion recorded her vocal in a single take. And the rest of the score was arranged around her demo performance. Cameron finally approved \u201cMy Heart Will Go On\u201d as the film\u2019s theme, which plays over the closing credits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Every night in my dreams,<br>I see you, I feel you,<br>That is how I know you go on.<br>Far across the distance,<br>And spaces between us,<br>You have come to show you go on<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>We\u2019ll Always Go On<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once <em>Titanic<\/em> arrived in movie theaters, it was hard to avoid \u201cMy Heart Will Go On\u201d. It topped the <em>Billboard<\/em> Hot 100, and though its success is indisputable, many, including <em>Titanic<\/em> star Kate Winslet, were less than enthusiastic about Dion\u2019s hit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Near, far,<br>Wherever you are,<br>I believe that the heart does go on.<br>Once more, you open the door,<br>And you\u2019re here in my heart,<br>And my heart will go on and on<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cBless you, Celine, but it does rather haunt me,\u201d Winslet <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20120331132137\/http:\/\/www.mtv.com\/news\/articles\/1682085\/kate-winslet-titanic-theme-song.jhtml\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">told<\/a> MTV in 2012. Still, Dion is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=conBmLdtUEw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">relieved<\/a> she was persuaded to record the song.
