Marr wrote and played on the track, which precedes <em>High Noon<\/em>, Blondie\u2019s first album in nine years. But the song dates back a few years, first released as the B-side to Marr\u2019s 2018 single, \u201cSpiral Cities\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>High Noon<\/em> arrives on February 26, 2027, and will be the last to feature the band\u2019s longtime drummer Clem Burke, who died last year at age 70. You might know the album by Marr\u2019s banger, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=vT_IlY0A4_0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u201cHi Hello\u201d<\/a>. But \u201cSpiral Cities was released as the second single in late 2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Marr\u2019s original features the kind of angular rock Blondie helped pioneer. But here, the track blossoms into a kind of supergroup featuring Debbie Harry, Chris Stein, Clem Burke, plus Marr and Sex Pistols bassist Glen Matlock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Oh, you\u2019re something else,<br>Lost soul winging it.<br>And you\u2019re somewhere else,<br>Beyond the limit now.<br>No here, no now,<br>So in and out, out<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The Possessor in You<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-4-3 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Spectral Eyes\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/yQH1gweyxAY?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Harry sings about someone crashing out. Here and then gone like a ghost. This is burning the candle at both ends while admiring its glow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Oh, spectral eyes, who let you get at the possessor in you?<br>No entry signs, show me there is; nothing ever gets through,<br>Celestial smile, reckless, there\u2019s nothing else we can do<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cGet the reverie,\u201d she sings, hoping for a rebirth. It\u2019s written abstractly, but it\u2019s hard not to spot Harry\u2019s band in the sentiment. She <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thefader.com\/2026\/10\/15\/blondie-new-album-announce-spectral-eyes\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said<\/a> in a statement, \u201cThis album is classic Blondie\u2014an amalgamation of all our different influences and eras into something new.
